Family and Short-Course Olympic Pools

Jump into the refreshing waters of the Clubs’s two outdoor pools, with stunning 180-degree views of the Intracoastal. At the heart of the Club and surrounded by palms, gardens, cabanas and the Bird Cage, our Family Pool is heated in the winter for year-round enjoyment. Carlouel also has a second, short-course Olympic pool used by the Carlouel Pirates swim team. Whether you love to swim for pleasure, or for fitness, Carlouel’s pools are available to members and guests year-round.

Carlouel Pirates Swim Team

The Carlouel Pirates Swim Team is typically comprised of around 25-30 children ages 5 to 18 years old. Swim team coaching staff provides instruction on the four major competitive strokes: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly, and competes in an average of 12-15 swim meets per year. From March thru mid-July, members of the swim team have daily practices, complete with strength training and conditioning exercises. Pirates swim team is a way of life, and a place where our children not only improve their swim techniques, but also make new friends at the Club.

Carlouel is a charter member of the U.S. Private Club League and participates in competitions sanctioned by Florida Swimming, a member of USA Swimming (the national governing body for swimming in the U.S.). All participants on the swim team must be members or summer guests at the Club.
